Dynamic Posture (3 private sessions by appointment $179)
Your posture, the way you stand, sit, and walk—tells the world who you are. Learn dynamic and usable posture for all your activities. Look and feel better in this private three session workshop. $179 for the three sessions. Scheduled by appointment.
Awareness through Movement (6-week class begins Thursday, 9/27 - 10/25, 7 - 8:00 PM, $59)
Awareness through Movement (ATM) classes are for everyone, regardless of your abilities. During an ATM class, the Feldenkrais teacher verbally leads you through a sequence of easy, simple movements. You'll increase your awareness through thinking, sensing, moving and imagining. This increased awareness teaches you how to abandon habitual patterns of movement and develop new alternatives. Many lessons are based on developmental movements and ordinary functional activities (reaching, standing, lying to sitting, looking behind yourself, etc.). Others are based on more abstract explorations of joint, muscle, and postural relationships. During these fun, easy, hour-long classes, you learn ways to:
  • Improve your posture, flexibility, and coordination
  • Relieve pain, tension, and stress
  • Enhance sports performance and prevent injury

QiGong (Call for information--classes being scheduled for fall)
Qigong is an ancient mind-body system for cultivating our natural energy. Through simple, easy to learn, and fun movements, you can improve your health, strength, and peace of mind. Join this beginning class to discover how you can start your day with energy and confidence.
Bones for Life (1 session Saturday, 10/6/2007 1:00 - 4:30 PM $45
The Bones for Life program®, based on the Feldenkrais Method, is a natural program for improving bone strength through dynamic movement and weight bearing posture. The National Osteoporosis Foundation says that osteoporosis is not a part of normal aging and can be prevented. But in your busy life do you always have time for the type of exercise necessary? What if you could integrate movement into your daily life to make your bones stronger without excessive exercise? Bones for Life shows you how. It lets you avoid drugs, herbal supplements, and strenuous exercise. You'll leave this workshop with gentle movement sequences that fight bone loss through natural, everyday movements. You'll also find improved balance. During this three and one-hour workshop, you'll learn the basics of this program. Telling Your Story - Six week class begins in January
We all have important stories to tell. Often, though, we don't know how to get in touch with them or how to express them. In this workshop we'll use mind/body techniques from Yoga, the Feldenkrais Method, QiGong, and meditation to discover the story each of us has inside us. Participants can tell their story through writing, art, or movement.
